Darren Towler (born in Consett, England) is an English mixed martial artist, who competes in the heavyweight division.[1] He is currently the UCMMA Heavyweight Champion.

Mixed martial arts career

Towler has had a mixed fight record, as in his first 10 fights, he has only won 4 of them. It is worth pointing out he has never left it to the judges to decide the winner, as he either KOed his opponent or he was TKOed/Submitted himself.

On August 6, 2011, he defeated former Polish Strongman Tomasz Czerwinski at UCMMA 22 - Warrior Creed, via TKO.[2]

He then fought Ben Smith for the vacant UCMMA Heavyweight Title at UCMMA 23 - Go 4 It. Smith had beaten Towler in the past, beating him by submission at UCMMA 13. Towler won the fight and became the Champion after landing a knee, which opened a big enough cut on Smith for the cage side doctor to stop the fight.[3]
